Aluminium Scraps of Abandoned Aircraft to be Recycled

13 abandoned aircraft at airports in Lagos and Abuja will be removed by the Federal Airports Authority in Nigeria (FAAN) and the scraps of aluminium recycled.

The scraps will be evacuated to rolling plants in Ogun and Lagos States, and recycled into corrugated aluminium roofing sheets, sliding doors, windows and other small scale industrial uses.

The evacuation exercise began from the Murtala Mohammed Airport (MMA) in Lagos earlier this month and is expected to move to Abuja airport.
